Support Our Meal Program

Every morning, children arrive at Pike Market Child Care & Preschool eager to see their friends, greet their teachers, and settle in for a warm breakfast that starts their day with comfort and connection. While in our care, children receive nearly 70% of their daily nutritional needs through scratch-made meals and healthy snacks. In a city where the cost of living continues to rise, consistent access to healthy food ensures children are nourished and cared for, giving parents the stability they need to stay grounded in their work and their lives.

Meals shared around a table do more than fill hungry bellies—they cultivate relationships, offer emotional comfort, and create joyful opportunities for learning and belonging. For parents juggling long workdays, unpredictable schedules, and rising food costs, knowing that their child is receiving high-quality meals and emotionally responsive care brings genuine peace of mind.

This year, we are serving more families who are navigating job instability, housing insecurity, and tighter food budgets. As pressures on families grow, our commitment remains unwavering: to provide high-quality early learning; fuel children with healthy, delicious meals; and connect parents with steady, culturally relevant resources that help them remain grounded through uncertain times. When families are supported, children thrive.

With your help, PMCCP can continue to be a steady source of nourishment, stability, and connection for children and families. Your generosity allows us to:

  • Serve fresh, scratch-made meals and snacks — ensuring every child receives a healthy start to their day.

  • Keep sliding-scale and tuition-assistance options open for families earning low and moderate incomes.

  • Maintain low teacher–child ratios that provide emotional stability, connection, and responsive care.

  • Preserve a nurturing, community-centered environment where children and families are visible, validated, and valued.

This season, we are asking our community to help us raise $30,000 to sustain our meal program and protect access for every family who relies on PMCCP.

Your support strengthens the circle of care that surrounds our children, families, and Educators.
