Gratitude in the Sweet Pea Classroom

Gratitude is woven into the heart of PMCCP, showing up in the small moments, the shared laughter, the teamwork, and the deep care that fills each classroom. In the Sweet Pea classroom - our community of curious, growing infants aged 4–12 months - gratitude takes a particularly tender form. It lives in the joy of witnessing early milestones, and in the connections that make this place feel like a second home.

This month, we invited some of our Sweet Pea teachers to reflect on gratitude: what it means to them, how they experience it within PMCCP, and how it shines through in their day-to-day work with our littlest learners. Their responses offer a beautiful glimpse into the heart behind the care they provide.

Below, you’ll find their reflections in their own words.

Q: What does gratitude mean to you?

A: When you notice what you have, appreciate it and express it to others.

Q: How does gratitude show up for you at PMCCP?

A: When I see how the leadership team works hard to provide for the teachers it shows we are valued. All the employees help and guide me and treat me as an equal. To me it shows up as connection – we have each other and are very connected. I am also grateful because my daughter is here and loves it.

Q: How does gratitude show up for you in your classroom?

A: I’m grateful for the children in my room. Their unique personalities bring me so much joy and curiosity and it is wonderful to witness the magic with them. I am also grateful for the teachers in my room, who bring hard work, curiosity, and knowledge about different cultures. I’m grateful for the joy we share while caring for little ones together.
