A Beautiful Day of Joy, Connection, and Community at Our 25th Annual Walk for Kids
This past weekend, our Pike Market Child Care & Preschool community gathered together for one of our favorite traditions — the 25th Annual Walk for Kids — and what a beautiful day it was.
Families, children, staff, board members, alumni, neighbors, and friends filled the cobblestone streets of Pike Place Market with laughter, music, dancing, and joy as we walked together in support of early childhood education.
There was something especially meaningful about seeing our community move through the Market together — toddlers holding hands, preschoolers proudly wearing their Walk shirts, families reconnecting, teachers dancing with children, and so many people showing up with generosity and love for our little school in the heart of Seattle.
We are thrilled to share that together, we reached our fundraising goal of $50,000.
These funds directly support nourishing meals, inclusive early learning experiences, classroom materials, family support, and the caring relationships that make PMCCP such a special place for children to grow.
The day was filled with so many memorable moments:
Dancing together at the dance party with DJ Marco Collins
Children helping draw raffle winners
Families and staff celebrating together at the playground
Community members stopping to cheer us on throughout the Market
The overwhelming feeling of connection and support that carried through the entire day
Events like the Walk remind us that PMCCP is so much more than a school. It is a community rooted in relationships, belonging, and collective care.
To every donor, volunteer, sponsor, family member, staff member, board member, and friend who participated — thank you. Your support helps ensure that children continue to have access to nurturing, relationship-centered early learning right here in Pike Place Market.
We are deeply grateful to be part of this incredible community.
With gratitude,
Pike Market Child Care & Preschool
